Steve Van Timmeren
I received my B.S. in Biology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids,
MI in 1997 and my M.S. in Biological Sciences from Eastern Illinois
University in Charleston, IL in 2000. My Master's research was on the
emergence and reproductive behaviors of the Japanese beetle. I studied
when male and female beetles emerged from the soil and how emergence
related to specific mating and egg laying behaviors.
Currently, I am involved in various projects in the SFE laboratory,
primarily focusing on the Japanese beetle as well as blueberry and grape
IPM projects.
In our spare time, my wife and I enjoy doing just about anything outside.
This includes everything from backpacking to cross-country skiing in
winter to camping, rollerblading, hiking and playing softball during
the summer months.
